The Interior Ministry warned about the use of clone websites of government resources by fraudsters

Fraudulent call centers use fake Internet resources that outwardly copy official government portals. This was announced on May 29 by the Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"Fraudulent call centers continue to use fake websites that outwardly copy official government resources," the agency's Telegram channel says.

According to the agency, attackers use such sites to confirm the legend of a call allegedly from an official. The ministry explained that during the conversation, the fraudster calls his "personal employee number", after which specially prepared fictitious information is displayed on the screen.

Through such clone sites, citizens are shown fabricated information about the position, department, and contact information of the caller, which allows criminals to impersonate real representatives of government organizations.
