- NASA has not ruled out cooperation between Russia and the United States to establish a base on the moon.
It is possible that Russia and the United States may become partners in the future when working on the creation of a base on the surface of the Moon. This was announced on May 29 by the head of the NASA lunar base program, Carlos Garcia-Galan.
"You know, we're talking about setting up a base on the moon. This is a task for humanity, so you can never know for sure what will happen in terms of agreements or who exactly we will cooperate with," he told RIA Novosti, speaking about the prospects for cooperation with Russia in creating a base.
At the same time, as Garcia-Galan noted, no formal discussions on the relevant issue have been held yet.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on May 26 that Russia and Kazakhstan had taken a new step in cooperation in the field of space exploration. He recalled that this year, on April 30, the first launch of the Russian-Kazakh advanced medium-range rocket Soyuz-5/Sunkar from the Baiterek complex took place.
