Netanyahu pointed to the symbolism of military cooperation between Israel and Germany
There is a certain symbolism in the prospects of military cooperation between Israel and Germany. This statement was made on May 28 by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Germany is turning to us because of its desire to create an army. <...> It seems to me that there is a certain symbolism in this," he said.
The politician noted that the desire to cooperate with Israel stems from several reasons, such as the military capability and initiative of the Jewish state, as well as the active development of "industries of the future."
According to him, one of the advantages of Israel is technological progress, which the country must continue to develop.
According to Netanyahu, this is what causes various states, including Germany, to be interested in cooperation with Israel.
Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported on May 20 that American leader Donald Trump had a "long and difficult" telephone conversation with Netanyahu. The Israeli leader learned that the mediators are working on a "letter of intent" that the United States and Iran will sign to formally end the war and begin a 30-day period of negotiations on issues such as Iran's nuclear program and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. It is specified that the parties could not agree on further steps.
