American rapper Kanye West's stay in Istanbul caused a stir: residents of the city told Izvestia on May 29 that fans filled the approaches to the hotel where he was staying.

The police are forced to restrain the fans who gathered at The Peninsula Hotel.

Crowds of people are at the entrance to the hotel and blocking the roads, and some are trying to get the best shots by climbing on top of each other.

On April 7, British authorities banned Kanye West from entering the country to participate in the Wireless Festival amid outrage over his anti-Semitic remarks. He was supposed to come to the country for the first time in 11 years. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer noted that the rapper "should never have been invited to perform" on Wireless.
