A resident of Murmansk was sentenced for a drunken accident with a victim

A court in Murmansk has sentenced a 38-year-old motorist who repeatedly got behind the wheel drunk and caused an accident. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

The accident occurred on October 26, 2024 on the federal highway R-21 "Cola". The car drove into oncoming traffic and crashed into a parked car in which there were a man and a woman. The man suffered injuries that were later classified as causing serious harm to his health.

As it turned out, a 38-year-old resident of Murmansk was driving a car under the influence of alcohol. The examination showed the content of ethyl alcohol in the exhaled air at 2.6 mg/l. At the same time, the driver already had an administrative penalty for drunk driving, the Bi-port news agency clarifies.

The court found the motorist guilty under clauses "a, b" of Part 1 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of traffic rules by a person deprived of a driver's license and intoxicated, which negligently caused serious harm to human health." He was sentenced to three years and seven months in prison, and he was also banned from driving for three years.

Earlier in May, a court in the Lipetsk region sentenced a motorist who got drunk behind the wheel on New Year's Eve and caused an accident with the dead and injured. The driver never admitted his guilt.
