- Ushakov questioned the rapid reaction of the United States to Kiev's new requests for weapons.
The American authorities are unlikely to respond promptly to the statement of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, who appealed to the head of the White House, Donald Trump, with a request for the supply of new weapons. This was announced on May 28 by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"I think the Americans need weapons in another place. I don't think the Americans will immediately run to fulfill these requests or demands of Ukraine," the Telegram channel of the Vesti news agency quoted him as responding to a question from correspondent Pavel Zarubin.
Ushakov added that Russia continues to conduct a dialogue with the United States, negotiations are ongoing, and American mediators are helping in their conduct.
"But the Americans maintain their relations with Ukraine, and Zelensky probably sent more than one letter to Washington," the Russian leader's aide added.
Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the head of the Kiev regime, noted on May 28 that Zelensky had put Washington in an awkward position with his letter to Trump. Having rejected many peace proposals, he is now demanding more American missiles again, Mendel said.
Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou said on May 27 that Zelensky risks facing the displeasure of the head of the European diplomacy, Kai Kallas, because of his appeal to Trump. According to him, the reason for the possible conflict was Zelensky's letter requesting military assistance, which contradicts Callas' statements.
