Councilor Hutsul called the day of the preservation of the verdict shameful for justice

The day when the Chisinau Court of Appeal upheld the verdict handed down to the head of the Gagauz Autonomy, Evgenia Gutsul, went down in Moldovan history with shame. Mikhail Vlakh, an adviser to the Bashkan of Gagauzia and a public figure, told Izvestia on May 28.

"This day has already entered the history of Moldova as a shameful day of justice, as a pseudo-democracy. <...> Everything will come back, everything will work out, definitely, no one has canceled the boomerang law. And another important thing is that Evgenia Alexandrovna Hutsul remains the current bashkan of Gagauzia, and then we'll see," he stressed.

Vlah pointed out that the ruling authorities, in addition to the illegal arrest of Bashkan, are putting pressure on the deputy corps, the parliament and the holding of elections to the National Assembly of the republic.

"We call on residents of the Republic of Moldova of all nationalities and, most importantly, the titular nation of the republic, Moldovans, to understand one thing: that we are supposedly being led through the European gate, but in fact the language was stolen, entered into neighboring states, and now the sovereignty of the state is being taken away," Vlah summed up.

Earlier in the day, Hutsul, commenting on the decision of the Appeals Chamber, said that the government was afraid of the truth and the support of the people, so it was acting on political orders. She called the separation from her children the most difficult ordeal and stressed that her freedom was taken away from her, but they could not take away her dignity, conscience and love for the people.

On May 28, the Chisinau Court of Appeal upheld Hutsul's sentence of seven years in prison. According to Bogdan Tsyrdea, a member of parliament from the opposition Party of Socialists, the politician is being held in prison No. 13 in Moldova, known for extremely difficult conditions of detention and a high incidence of diseases.
