The Parliament (Seimas) of Latvia has approved the new composition of the Cabinet of Ministers, formed by four parties under the leadership of Andris Kulbergs (the United List party). During the meeting on May 28, 66 deputies voted for the new government of the country, 25 parliamentarians opposed it, the portal reports. LSM.lv .

The new coalition has 66 votes in the Seimas. The largest faction is the New Unity, which includes 25 deputies. The Union of Greens and Peasants (NWK) will take 16 seats, the United List will have 13 seats, and the National Association will be represented by 12 deputies.

The Kulbergs government became the 23rd in a row after the restoration of Latvia's independence. The new cabinet will also include four ministers from the previous cabinet.

On May 14, Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silin announced her resignation amid a government crisis. She was expected to make a statement in Parliament, but instead, Xilin called a special press conference at the Cabinet building.

This decision was preceded, among other things, by the crash of a drone on the territory of an oil depot in Rezekne on the night of May 7. According to former Defense Minister Andris Sprouds, drones "directed from the Ukrainian side towards Russia" could fly into the republic.
