Some habits that athletes consider normal can lead to syncope, myocardial ischemia, and even thrombosis. Evgeny Kokin, cardiologist at JSC "Medicine", warned about this on Thursday, May 28.

According to the doctor, the first critical mistake is an abrupt stop at the peak of the load. When working actively, the leg muscles act as a pump, helping the blood return to the heart. If you stop moving abruptly, this mechanism turns off, the vessels remain dilated, and the pressure drops. There is a risk of post-loading hypotension and syncope. The specialist added that a hitch is needed — 5-7 minutes of quiet walking or light stretching to avoid this.

The cardiologist warned that discomfort behind the sternum, sudden weakness, cold sweat, a feeling of heart failure or unexplained shortness of breath is a possible sign of myocardial ischemia. It is especially dangerous if the pain is oppressive and radiates to the left arm, jaw or under the shoulder blade. In this case, it is necessary to immediately stop the load and, if the pain does not go away in 3-5 minutes, call an ambulance, he stressed.

"Fluid deficiency thickens the blood, increasing the risk of thrombosis. But excessive consumption of water at a time creates an extra volume load on the heart. You need to drink small portions of 100-150 ml every 15-20 minutes," Kokin warned in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The doctor noted that neglect is also a serious mistake. The heart recovers during rest, and chronic lack of sleep increases the level of adrenaline and cortisol, which leads to increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, even at rest, Kokin explained.

The specialist added that self—medication with energy drinks and stimulants after exercise is harmful to the body - caffeine narrows the coronary vessels and can provoke a spasm.

Pavel Megey, a physical therapist at the Three Sisters Early Rehabilitation Clinic, said on May 18 that Nordic walking is one of the most underrated types of physical activity. According to the expert, the shoulder girdle, arms, back muscles and deep muscles of the body actively work with Scandinavian walking. Due to this, the load is distributed more evenly, and the motor activity itself becomes physiologically more complete.

In turn, a cardiologist, a functional diagnostics doctor at the Department of Cardiology and Therapy of the Scientific and Clinical Center No. 3 of the Russian National Research Center named after Academician B.V. Petrovsky Sharifzod Behruzi Fayzali explained in an interview with Life.En May 4, how to implement workouts into your life without harm to your health.
