Oncologist Violetta Purtskhvanidze told us which symptoms should not be ignored and urgently consult a specialist.

In conversation with aif.ru On Thursday, May 28, the specialist noted that even minor changes in the body can be signals of serious diseases, including cancer, and it is dangerous to ignore them.

According to her, special attention should be paid to non—healing wounds and ulcers that do not go away for more than two weeks, as well as to any changes in moles and the appearance of new formations - especially if they grow, change color or begin to bleed.

The expert noted that unreasonable bleeding is also an alarming symptom, for example, from the nose, when coughing, in the urine or from the intestines. In addition, the rapid growth of seals, enlargement of lymph nodes or the appearance of painless but dense formations should be alerted.

She added that sometimes cancer is manifested by a general deterioration in well-being: sudden weight loss, constant fatigue, fever for no reason and frequent infections.

The specialist stressed that when such signs appear, it is important not to postpone a visit to the doctor, as early diagnosis significantly increases the chances of successful treatment.

Andrey Kaprin, chief freelance oncologist at the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (MOH), said on May 26 that skin cancer in Russia is most often caused by citizens aged 70 to 75 years, but no age guarantees protection from the development of melanoma. Lesions can occur in the eyeball, on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and in the intestine.

Earlier in May, Svetlana Varfolomeeva, director of the Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology at the N.N. Blokhin National Research Medical Center of Oncology, told the website kp.ru that in pediatric oncology there is a so-called traffic light of symptoms: a "red signal" means the need to urgently show the child to an oncologist. Warning signs include prolonged fever that does not respond to conventional treatment, as well as morning headaches with vomiting.

Also in May, oncologist and urologist Artyom Keln named pancreatic cancer the most dangerous. According to him, he is one of the most resistant cancers to chemotherapy. The symptoms are masked as gastritis and colitis, writes Life.ru .
