Zakharova called diplomacy a priority way to end the conflict in Ukraine
For Russia, the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine through political and diplomatic means remains a priority. This was announced on May 28 by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, answering a question from Izvestia.
"This can be achieved only through political and diplomatic means, as we have repeatedly said. This is our priority, this is really what we are betting on, although there is a military path," she said.
Accordingly, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the statements of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about the suspension of trilateral negotiations involving Moscow, Washington and Kiev. Zakharova called this fact, which was not Russia's fault, a "statement of fact."
"Both we and the United States of America have such a will, which cannot be said about the representatives of Ukraine, their Western curators, who have recently resorted simply to ultimatum rhetoric," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
At the same time, she added that only American leader Donald Trump is the only Western politician who is trying to facilitate a settlement, understanding the root causes of the conflict.
