The Russian government has allocated more than 1.2 billion rubles to help organize summer holidays for children from the border regions of the Belgorod region. This was announced on May 28 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a cabinet meeting.
He noted that many children will spend the upcoming holidays in summer camps. The government also helps to organize such holidays for schoolchildren.
"Today we will consider allocating more than 1.2 billion rubles for such purposes, in particular, to the Belgorod region, so that at least 16.5 thousand children who live in border settlements of the region can spend their holidays in other regions of our country actively, interestingly, and in a diverse way," he said.
On April 21, the Ministry of Education and Rosobrnadzor approved additional dates for passing the unified State exam (USE) for schoolchildren from the border regions of Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions. Thus, students from these regions will be able to take the Russian language on June 4 and 5, and exams in mathematics at the basic and specialized levels on June 8 and 9.
The press service of the Ministry of Education of Russia announced on April 28 that summer holidays in Russian schools will be held from May 27 to August 31. The head of the department, Sergey Kravtsov, noted that a full rest in the summer helps schoolchildren gain strength — so they can enthusiastically return to classes in September.
As Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko warned on May 23, the duration of summer holidays for schoolchildren should not be changed. In summer, it is important to ensure active pastime, including visits to health camps, since students sit at desks a lot during the year without moving.
