In a joint statement, Russia and Kazakhstan stressed the key role of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in ensuring stability in the region and declared their commitment to further strengthen its potential. The relevant document was published on May 28 on the Kremlin's website.

"We recognize the key role of the CSTO in ensuring regional stability and emphasize the focus on further improving the CSTO's potential, including within the framework of the current presidency of the Russian Federation," the document says.

The parties stressed that cooperation within the CSTO remains an important element of the regional security system and will continue to develop.
