So, in the Chuvash Republic, in the early morning, on 25 km of the Volga-Mariinsky Posad highway, a 64—year-old car driver drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place while overtaking in the rain, where he collided with an intercity bus en route Novocheboksarsk — Mariinsky Posad with 10 passengers. in the salon. As a result of the accident, the culprit of the collision was killed, four bus passengers were hospitalized with injuries, and five more bus passengers were sent for outpatient treatment after receiving medical attention.

As a result of 72 accidents, 37 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 35 outside their area of operation, two pedestrians were killed, and 72 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 25 child pedestrians, 13 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside pedestrian crossings.

79 accidents involving minors were also registered, as a result of which 82 young road users were injured, including 26 child passengers, 14 motor transport drivers and two cyclists. Two children were killed, one of whom was a passenger in a passenger vehicle, and the other was a cyclist.

So, in the Leningrad Region, during the daytime, on 372 km of the federal highway A-114 Vologda — Tikhvin — R-21 Cola, a 65-year-old crossover driver drove into oncoming traffic in a prohibited place, where he collided with a truck. An elderly crossover driver and two of his passengers were killed in a car accident, including an eight-year-old girl who was in the back seat in a child restraint with a seat belt.

In the Altai Territory, in the evening, on 20 km of the Biysk — Soldatovo regional highway, a 51-year-old car driver ran over a 15-year-old cyclist who was moving along the right shoulder and suddenly began to cross the roadway in front of a nearby passenger car. The motorist did not have time to react to this maneuver and the student died.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that parents hold an explanatory conversation with their school-age children about the rules of safe cycling. It is necessary to regularly tell them about the rules of the road, the dangers of entering the roadway and the need to comply with the rules of safe behavior during cycling, the department said. It should be emphasized that access to public roads for cyclists is allowed only when they reach the age of 14.

Motorists were urged to be more careful both on the roads near settlements and cities, and in the settlements themselves. The behavior of children and the elderly when crossing the roadway can be unpredictable, so special care should be taken when approaching intersections, pedestrian crossings, railway crossings, park areas and other problem areas, from where pedestrians, cyclists or users of personal mobility equipment who neglect their own safety issues may unexpectedly appear on the road for the driver. In such places, it is recommended to slow down to the minimum speed in advance in order to have time to adequately respond to a possible change in the traffic situation at any moment.

"In addition, we remind drivers that the life and health of their passengers depend entirely on the skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior behind the wheel. Avoid risky driving, speeding, sudden lane changes, overtaking, and other dangerous maneuvers. Driver's discipline is especially necessary if there are child passengers in your car, who should be transported in compliance with all applicable safety requirements," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child Traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Earlier that day, it was reported that a bill providing for the possibility of buying "beautiful" state registration plates for a car was again submitted to the State Duma. It was finalized based on comments from the Government and the Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development.
