Zabaikalleskhoz employees are cleaning and updating mineralized strips on the territory of the Karymsky forestry. This was announced on Thursday, May 28, according to the press service of the Ministry of Forestry of the Trans-Baikal Territory.

"We are working on a tractor, only with the help of it we can make a mine lane that meets all the requirements. We are creating and updating, the total work front is more than 280 km," said tractor driver Sergey Popov.

Mineralized bands help to stop the spread of fire in forest fires. They represent a barrier created by exposing the mineral soil layer of the forest area.

The work is being carried out within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being," writes ChitaMedia news agency.

Since April 20, a special fire protection regime has been in effect throughout the territory of Transbaikalia. It is forbidden to visit forests and carry out fire-hazardous work, such as burning dry grass or making bonfires. Violation of the regime entails administrative and criminal liability.

Earlier it was reported that 57 video cameras included in the Lesohranitor system will be purchased in Transbaikalia. The devices will allow for round-the-clock monitoring of possible fires in the west, northeast and south of the region.
