Russia and Kazakhstan pointed to the role of the CIS in the security of Eurasia

Russia and Kazakhstan note the important role of the Commonwealth of Independent States in ensuring security in Eurasia and express interest in further deepening coordination in this format. This was stated on May 28 in a joint statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

"We note the significant role of the CIS in ensuring regional stability and security in Eurasia. We express our interest in deepening foreign policy coordination in this format," the document says.

In addition, Moscow and Astana stated that they are convinced that there is no alternative to the formation of a more just world order, which opens up opportunities for sustainable development.

Putin and Tokayev may attend the Russia-Kazakhstan Forum in Omsk
