Putin did not send messages to Trump through Lavrov
Russian President Vladimir Putin has not sent any messages to the head of the White House, Donald Trump, through his Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This was announced on May 28 by the assistant to the Russian leader, Yuri Ushakov.
"No, no message was sent to anyone," he said.
The presidential aide also added that Washington had also not sent Moscow a response after receiving recommendations to evacuate its embassy staff from Kiev.
On May 26, the American Secretary of State announced that Putin allegedly conveyed a message to Trump after a conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister. The contents of the alleged signal were not disclosed.
On the same day, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, commenting on the Russian-American negotiation process on irritants, said that it was not progressing easily. He tried to describe the speed of what was happening using the phraseological unit "a teaspoon per hour."
