- Pamfilova spoke about the right of 18 out of 20 political parties to participate in elections in Russia
Currently, 20 political parties are registered in Russia, and 18 of these associations have the right to participate in elections. This was announced on May 28 by the chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, at a meeting of this body.
"At the moment, we have 20 political parties registered in Russia, of which 18 are eligible to participate in elections," RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
At the same time, Pamfilova added that 12 parties can be elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation this year without collecting signatures from electing citizens.
The chairman of the Central Election Commission yesterday called the upcoming elections to the State Duma the most difficult campaign in recent years. Based on this, she called on her colleagues present at the meeting to be extremely attentive. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned about the same thing back on April 21. Then he said that the election events in 2026 would be held in difficult conditions.
