For the first time, Russia and Kazakhstan have conducted cross-border unmanned cargo transportation. This was announced on May 28 by Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, at the V Eurasian Economic Forum.
"We conducted the first cross-border unmanned cargo transportation. Not empty cars, but unmanned cargo delivery," TASS quoted him as saying.
The Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation also stated the need to create a regulatory framework for the development of such transportation. According to him, the regulation of the movement of highly automated vehicles should be developed taking into account the national legislation of the two countries.
Two days before his official visit to Kazakhstan, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced active cooperation between Moscow and Astana in the energy sector. At the same time, the Russian leader expressed confidence in strengthening interstate relations with this Central Asian state and added that the Russian Federation is ready to continue to fully develop such a multifaceted relationship.
Later, on May 28, the Russian leader arrived at the Independence Palace in Astana. In honor of his arrival, aviation painted the sky over the capital of the republic in the colors of the national flag of Russia. The solemn ceremony of welcoming the presidents continued in the official meetings hall of the palace.
