Ukrainians began to switch to Russian en masse, which alarmed representatives of the Kiev regime. This was stated on May 28 by Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, taking part in an informal meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils in the format of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) within the framework of the International Security Forum.

According to him, the trend was demonstrated by the results of Ukrainians' Google searches on Victory Day on May 9th. All of them were recorded in Russian. At the same time, spontaneous flower-laying ceremonies were recorded at monuments to soldiers of the Red Army in a number of Ukrainian cities.

"Recently, officials in Ukraine have been sounding the alarm more and more often — there is a large—scale return of the population to the Russian language, to the past, to the roots," TASS quoted him as saying.

He called this process the rejection of the concentration of lies, hysteria and historical falsifications imposed on the population. This, according to the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, is natural and is already being recorded not only in Ukraine, but also abroad, for example, in Moldova.

On May 18, former President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko complained about his fellow citizens who do not know and are not going to learn the Ukrainian language. This factor, according to the former head of state, influences the lack of statehood. The survey, the results of which appeared in the Kiev Digital app on May 4, illustrated that only less than a third of Kievans speak only their native language.

On April 23, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, also pointed out the popularity of the Russian language in Ukraine. Because of this, various prohibitions, direct repression, and quotas from the so-called "Spreichenfuhrers" are being reinforced there.
