- Shugaev called unmanned systems and electronic warfare the main trend in the field of armaments.
Unmanned systems and electronic warfare systems are the main trend in the field of armaments worldwide. Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia, told Izvestia columnist Viktor Sineok on May 28 ahead of the talks between the leaders of Russia and Kazakhstan in Astana.
"The experience of the SVO proves that military operations have changed in their essence and nature, UAVs are reaching a completely new level, I would even say that they are becoming a primary issue," Shugaev said.
The head of the FSMTC also recalled that the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan have a program on strategic cooperation. It includes the latest types of weapons, air defense systems, aviation and ground forces weapons.
Putin arrived in Kazakhstan on May 27 on a state visit. The Russian president's plane landed at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport. Tokayev personally met Putin with an honor guard.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on January 30 that Russian-made military equipment for export had been tested in combat. He said that last year the country received a "solid portfolio of new export orders" and supplied weapons to more than 30 armies around the world.
