The military revealed the details of the liberation of Vozdvizhevka in the Zaporizhia region

The military personnel of the Vostok group of forces revealed the details of the liberation of Vozdvizhevka settlement in the Zaporizhia region. This was reported on May 28 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Units of the 39th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 68th Army Corps and the 40th Marine Brigade participated in the operation. According to the military, the defense area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) west of the Gaichur River was one of the key nodes of the Ukrainian defensive line.

The shooter of the 40th separate Guards Marine Brigade with the call sign Robot said that the Ukrainian formations had prepared fortified positions in advance.

"It was a well-fortified area. The enemy has prepared, starting from the strongholds, ending with the approaches to the settlement. They were also machine-gun emplacements, and they were also, as I said, minefields. And the main danger, of course, was the enemy's UAVs," the Robot said.

It is specified that during the fighting, the military took control of a defense area of 19 square kilometers and cleared more than 530 buildings.

The Defense Ministry stressed that the liberation of Vozdvizhevka is of great tactical importance and creates conditions for the further offensive of units of the Vostok group of forces in the western direction.

On May 27, the Russian Ministry of Defense released footage of the liberation of Vozdvizhevka in the Zaporizhia region. The units of the Vostok group of forces, as a result of active offensive actions, knocked out the enemy and took control of the settlement. The liberation was carried out by soldiers of the 39th Motorized Rifle Brigade and the 40th Marine Brigade.
