The State Duma told about the effect of the compulsory medical insurance policy in any region

The compulsory medical insurance policy (CHI) is valid throughout Russia, so Russian citizens can receive the medical care provided for them regardless of their region of residence. This was stated on May 28 by State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev (LDPR).

"People who got sick on vacation come to my appointments, but they didn't go to the doctor because they thought they wouldn't accept a policy from another region. This is a dangerous misconception. The compulsory medical insurance policy is a federal document. It operates throughout Russia. <...> If you are told: If you are not from our city, we will not treat you, then this is a direct violation of the law," Svishchev told RIA Novosti.
