Two people died in an accident in Blagoveshchensk.

Two people died in Blagoveshchensk, Amur region, as a result of an accident. This was announced on May 28 by the State Traffic Inspectorate for the region in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that the accident occurred in the area of house 206 on 50 let Oktyabrya Street. A Toyota Prius crashed into a tree.

"As a result of the accident, the driver, born in 1966, and his passenger, born in 1989, died from their injuries," the statement said.

Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate and the investigative task force of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia were involved at the scene.

The death rate in road accidents is planned to be reduced by one and a half times by 2030.

On May 27, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry told Izvestia that 292 road accidents had occurred on Russian roads over the past day, killing 25 and injuring 352 people. The number of dead drivers and passengers reached 21 people. Also, 70 accidents involving minors were registered, as a result of which 75 young road users were injured, including 22 passengers, 24 drivers, eight of them were driving motor vehicles.
