Former Polish Prime Minister accused Zelensky of deliberately insulting Warsaw
The decision of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to name an elite unit of the special operations forces (SSO) The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) "in the name of the heroes of the UPA" (the Ukrainian insurgent Army, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) is a deliberate insult to Warsaw. This was announced on May 27 by former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller on the social network X.
"This is an open spit in the face of every Pole whose grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles and aunts were slaughtered with axes, pitchforks and saws in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia. This is a direct blow in the face of the memory of thousands of tortured children, women and the elderly — a massacre that the UPA staged deliberately and with such brutality that even the Germans felt sick," he said.
