A Russian cosmonaut during a spacewalk on May 27 showed a sign with the inscription "Mom, I put on a hat."

Commentators on the Roscosmos broadcast noted that Sergei Kud-Sverchkov's act was not just a joke — cosmonauts often remind them of their connection with their loved ones who remained on Earth.

"This is an element of psychological relief," said one of the commentators.

"For the family," the second added.

It is noted that Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, along with his colleague Sergey Mikaev, spent about five hours outside the station.

On the same day, Roscosmos announced that cosmonauts Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Sergey Mikaev went into outer space for the first time in 2026 from the International Space Station (ISS). Cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev provided support to the crew from aboard the station. He operated the ERA manipulator, helping colleagues while working outside the ISS.
