The Strait of Hormuz should not be controlled by any country, as these are neutral waters. This was announced on May 27 by US President Donald Trump.

"These are neutral waters. No one will control it. We will monitor the strait," Trump said during a cabinet meeting at the White House.

The American leader also stressed that he objects to the idea of transporting Iranian enriched uranium to Russia or China.

Russia's representative to the world organization, Vasily Nebenzia, said yesterday that the Russian side was ready to take Iran's enriched uranium, but the final decision on this issue should be made by the Islamic Republic itself.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on May 24 that the United States is ready for "very serious negotiations" on Iran's nuclear program, provided that Iran reopens the Strait of Hormuz.

Tasnim news agency reported at the same time that Iran does not intend to agree to the inspection of its vessels by the United States after the lifting of the naval blockade.
