The lifeguard reminded the rules of safe rest on the beach
Honored Lifeguard of Russia, member of the Public Chamber of the Moscow region Sergey Shchetinin reminded the rules of safe rest on the beach.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, May 27, the expert named the main prohibitions that every vacationer should know. The expert stressed that it is their violation that most often leads to accidents on the water.
According to him, swimming under the influence of alcohol is particularly dangerous, as well as swimming behind buoys and approaching boats. He stressed that inflatable circles and mattresses are unsafe, as they can deflate at depth, and jumping and diving in unequipped places are prohibited.
The specialist separately drew attention to the safety of children: they should not be left unattended, and those who do not know how to swim should not go into the depths, even with a circle. He added that on official beaches, the depth usually does not exceed 1.5–2 m, and the bottom is shallow.
In addition, the expert urged not to ignore violations on the beach — if there are no lifeguards or other problems, you should report this to the municipal services.
Olga Starkova, head of the Municipal Hygiene Supervision Department of the Rospotrebnadzor Department for the Moscow Region, recalled on May 23 that official recreation areas near the water must undergo mandatory inspection. The expert noted that a safe beach should have a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion, and places for swimming are determined by local authorities. According to her, the owners of recreation areas are required to regularly check the quality of water and soil. She added that the equipped beach should have showers, changing rooms, toilets, bins and daily cleaning should be provided, RT reports.
Also in May, Petr Shcherbachenko, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, called it unacceptable to "book" sun beds with a towel. According to him, it is worth taking a chaise longue only when a person is really going to relax on the beach. According to him, the habit of leaving a towel in the morning and going out on business is considered a violation of beach etiquette.
Before that, in May, the preparation of beaches for the bathing season began in Moscow. As the website notes kp.ru divers of the Moscow City Search and Rescue Service have begun to survey the beaches.
Earlier, Vladimir Cherepkov, head of the GIMS Center of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Moscow, said that it was especially dangerous to leave children unattended on the water, and one of the adults should definitely watch them from the shore while swimming, NSN notes.
