Stubb questioned information about Russia redirecting drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to Finland

Finnish President Alexander Stubb said he did not believe the information about the alleged interception and redirection of Ukrainian drones towards the Baltic countries and Finland. The Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat wrote about this on May 27.

The publication notes that in this way Stubb commented on the statement from an article in the British newspaper The Telegraph. The article claimed that Russia could redirect Ukrainian drones towards NATO countries using "blinding technology."

"To begin with, the president and the commander-in-chief listen more to the defense forces, the Air Force and intelligence, rather than to The Telegraph. Based on this, I don't find the idea that Russia is deliberately sending drones towards Finland convincing," he said.

Stubb stressed that it makes no sense to pay attention to every piece of news that comes out in a British newspaper.

The support of the Kiev regime led to unpleasant consequences.

Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said on May 25 that Russia had never attempted to send Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) towards Finland. According to the head of government, Helsinki has no data or signs indicating that the Russian side tried to redirect Ukrainian drones to the Finnish borders.

On May 17, Finnish political analyst Sakari Linden called on the Baltic states and Finland to destroy Ukrainian drones when they cross the airspace of these countries. In his opinion, these states, if they do not want to shoot down Ukrainian drones, should stop financial support for Kiev, otherwise such actions can be considered as complicity to the Kiev regime.
