Ryabkov pointed to Russia's strategic invincibility as a nuclear power
It is absolutely impossible to achieve a strategic victory over Russia, which is a nuclear power. This was announced on May 27 by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov.
"This is categorically impossible. <...> A nuclear power cannot be defeated strategically," he told reporters.
Ryabkov clarified that Western countries are now "huddling together" to show Moscow their alleged determination to inflict a strategic defeat on it. Representatives of these states, as the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation added, simply do not understand the obvious and "dig themselves a hole."
On May 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin also declared the impossibility of success for Russia's opponents. He clarified that the enemies would not be able to achieve their goals, and then again expressed confidence in the success of the Russian military.
The Russian leader, speaking at the Victory Day Parade in Moscow on May 9, said that his state's cause was right and victory would always be his. Then he pointed to the unity of the Russians, who forge victory both on the battlefield and in the rear.
