Ferrari presented the Pope with a steering wheel from a new Luce electric car

A Ferrari delegation led by Chairman of the Board of Directors John Elkann and CEO Benedetto Vigna, as well as other executives and engineers of the company, visited the residence of Pope Leo XIV in Castel Gandolfo. There, the pontiff was presented with a new Luce hyperelectric car, the press service of the Italian company reported.

During the meeting, John Elkann presented the Pope with a steering wheel from a Ferrari Luce. Before getting into the driver's seat, Leo XIV asked if the Luce was really the brand's first four-door sports car. Elkann clarified in response that this is the first five-seater Ferrari car.

The Ferrari Luce, the brand's first electric car, was declassified the day before. The LoveFrom studio, created by Apple natives Johnny Ive and Marc Newson, was responsible for its design. The electric car received a power plant with four electric motors that develop a total of 1,050 hp and accelerate the novelty from a standstill to the first "hundred" in 2.5 seconds, and to the second in 6.8 seconds.
