In the future, the stress in the word "pamper" will fall only on the first syllable. Vladimir Pakhomov, a researcher at the Vinogradov Institute of the Russian Language of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chairman of the Philological Council of Total Dictation, told about this on May 27.

"We will find fewer and fewer accents of "pamper" and "indulge" in colloquial, lively, everyday speech — probably only from those who are used to saying this because they know it's the right thing to do, or want to flaunt such an exemplary accent. Obviously, the future belongs to the emphasis on "pampering," "pampering," Pakhomov told RIA Novosti.

According to him, in the Orthoepical Dictionary of the Russian language, the options "Pamper" and "Pamper" are still given as equal. However, as the linguist noted, over time, "pampering" will be called the main option, and "pampering" will be called the acceptable senior norm.

"Then the "pamper" option will disappear from the dictionaries after some time. Obviously, he doesn't have long to live in the Russian language," the expert concluded.

At the same time, Russians began to search less often for the words "beetroot" (-40.4%), "pamper" (-27%) and "phenomenon" (-19.1%).

On February 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a list of instructions on the protection and development of the Russian language. In particular, he instructed to submit proposals for studying the discipline "Russian as the state language" at universities. In addition, the President instructed the Ministry of Education to develop special manuals on the Russian language for schoolchildren of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.
