The lawyer spoke about the order of inheritance of pension savings
After the death of a pensioner, his relatives can receive a pension accrued but not paid during his lifetime, as well as additional payments due to it. On May 27, Vladimir Shapenko, a lawyer and managing partner of the Shapenko and Partners law firm, told the Prime agency about who can claim these funds.
"A funded pension is a supplement to an insurance pension, but not everyone has it. The rest of the savings can be inherited in the form of a lump sum payment if the pensioner has issued an urgent receipt of the funded part — he has determined the period during which he will receive the payment. If he chose indefinite registration, relatives will not be able to claim the remainder," Shapenko explained.
