A special flight regime has been established in the Moscow air zone.

Flights to aircraft at an altitude of up to 5.1 km will be restricted in Moscow airspace. This was announced on May 26 by the press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

"The Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency have received a submission from the Russian Ministry of Defense providing for a special regime for flights of civil aircraft at altitudes from 0 to 5,100 m within the Moscow air zone," the agency wrote in the Maks messenger.

It is noted that the restrictions will apply only to civil aircraft. Thus, regular passenger flights from airports will continue as before. The restrictions do not apply to the provision of medical care and evacuation, as well as to the performance of aviation and chemical work, monitoring of pipelines and power lines.

The day before, the Interregional Public Organization of Pilots and Aircraft Owners also announced restrictions on flights in Moscow airspace. They clarified that these measures may come into force in early July of this year.
