The European Union (EU) has lost its effectiveness and has become a bureaucratic giant due to ideological approaches. This was announced on May 26 by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the congress of the Italian Industrialists' association Confindustria.

"The biggest and most significant weakness that worries us the most is the current configuration of the European Union, a bureaucratic giant that has too often sacrificed competitiveness and strategic growth on the altar of ideological and technocratic approaches," Meloni said, the recording is available on her YouTube channel.

She stressed that the number of rules in all spheres of life is increasing in Europe, but the solutions to global problems remain overwhelming for the EU. According to the Italian prime minister, the European Union should do less, but better, set reasonable priorities and make decisions promptly.
