A teenager who was driving a pit bike was killed in a collision with a Gazelle in Ramenskoye municipal district. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Moscow region on Tuesday, May 26.
The road accident occurred at about 13:20 near one of the houses in the village of Ganusovo, IA Regnum reports.
"According to preliminary information, a 12-year-old child, driving a pit bike, collided with a Gazelle car when leaving a secondary road onto the main road. As a result of the accident, the minor driver died on the spot," the press service told the Moscow City News agency.
Traffic police are investigating all the circumstances of the accident, writes RIAMO.
On May 22, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded parents of the need to exclude minors from accessing motor vehicles and sports equipment, including pit bikes. Driving such equipment without appropriate skills, protective equipment and knowledge of the rules of the road poses a serious danger to teenagers, the department stressed. Pitbikes are sports equipment and are not intended for use on public roads. Their operation is allowed only on specialized tracks and enclosed areas.
