Ushakov pointed out the impossibility of excluding countries from the EAEU

According to the principles of cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), it is simply impossible to exclude a country from this union. This was announced on May 26 by Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

"According to the principles of cooperation within the EAEU, it is impossible to exclude a country from cooperation within this union by any decision. It is possible that the country itself declares that it is terminating cooperation for one reason or another," he said during a briefing.

When asked about Armenia's application for withdrawal from the union, Ushakov replied that the decisions taken by the country in the context of possible accession or expansion of cooperation in the EAEU are of concern to other states that cooperate with it within the framework of this union. He stressed that this is why such issues are widely known, and the leaders will discuss them when they meet.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said on May 22 that no one is interested in Armenia's withdrawal from the EAEU, and Yerevan also declares that there is no such intention. According to him, Russia stands for Armenia to remain in the EAEU, prosper and continue to develop at the same pace. Overchuk also noted that Moscow would be sympathetic to any choice of the Armenian people.
