Cinema Mail launches Russia's first neurodocumentary short series "Neuro_Dock is a project created using artificial intelligence as a full—fledged video production tool. The format is based on a combination of generative graphics, neural network visualization and algorithmic reconstruction of events, which allows recreating historical plots in the form of short vertical episodes.

"Neuro_Doc is developing a new format of documentary storytelling, in which artificial intelligence underlies the entire production process — from creating scenes to reconstructing events for which no visual materials have been preserved. Each episode is accompanied by a deep and detailed study: the team examines the historical context, the visual component and the signs of the era, from clothing and interiors to the behavioral characteristics of the characters. This approach allows you to create the most reliable reconstruction and build a holistic narrative with a harmonious drama and a unique visual concept.

The authors consider the "Neuro_Doc" as one of the first steps towards the formation of a new film language in which artificial intelligence becomes a meaningful tool for video production. Today, the project is implemented in the format of short documentaries, but such technologies are already demonstrating the potential for wider application in the industry.

The first season of the project is dedicated to high-profile unsolved crimes of the 1990s and will consist of six episodes lasting about three minutes. Each of them focuses on a separate story and a key figure whose fate has become a reflection of the era.

For example, the first issue is dedicated to the famous entrepreneur Pavel Kapysh, who was called the "oil king of St. Petersburg." In the 1990s, he became one of the prominent figures of entrepreneurship, building a large business in the emerging post-Soviet economy. But already in 1999, Kapysh was killed — this crime became one of the most resonant for that time.

In the Neuro project_Doc" Kapysh's story is presented through a neural network reconstruction of key events, which makes it possible to visualize the course of the investigation and the context of what is happening. The premiere will take place on May 26, 2026 in the RgoKino community in the MAX messenger.
