116 attempts to fly over Ukrainian UAVs in a week were recorded in Belarus.
Over the past week, 116 attempts by Ukrainian combat drones to cross the Belarusian border have been recorded. This was announced on May 26 by Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich.
"Every day, our air defense systems record the regular crossing of the border of Belarus and Ukraine by combat UAVs and their fall on our territories. In some cases, these are not random attacks, but attempts to hit elements of the border infrastructure, hiding behind supposedly random airstrikes," BelTA quoted Volfovich as saying.
He noted that the air defense forces on duty reacted to drones 59 times a week. Such attempts are recorded almost daily.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said on May 21 that Belarus should be aware of the consequences of allegedly preparing aggressive actions against Ukraine. On the same day, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said that in the event of an attack on the republic, the country would not stand on ceremony.
Junge Welt magazine reported on May 26 that Zelensky's statements about the alleged preparation of a military conflict by Belarus have no basis and are not supported by evidence. At the same time, it is noted that the words of the politician are refuted by the Ukrainian border guards themselves, who found no evidence of preparation for the conflict that Zelensky is talking about.
