Yonhap reported the death of a man as a result of the collapse of an overpass in Seoul.

At least six people were injured and one person died as a result of the partial collapse of an old overpass during dismantling work on an overpass in Seoul. This was reported by Yonhap News Agency on May 26.

The incident occurred at the Seosomun overpass at 14:32 (8:32 Moscow time). The dismantling of the overpass was scheduled for early next month.

A Seoul city official said rescue efforts were continuing, noting that one side of the overpass had sagged.

The Korean Railway Corporation announced that train traffic between Seoul Station and Sincheon Station has been suspended due to the incident.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Kim Min-seok has ordered the full mobilization of equipment and personnel to rescue the injured.

Kim also asked officials to ensure the safety of rescuers and restrict access to the scene to prevent further casualties.

The Need To Know portal reported on April 21 that in Colombia, a newly built pedestrian bridge collapsed into the river along with the mayor of the city and local residents right during the opening ceremony. The incident occurred in the municipality of Bagado, located in the Choco department. The 85-meter-long structure was built to connect the city center with the village of San Marino.
