Russian preferences for a negotiator from the European Union were voiced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Director of the Second CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Polishchuk said on May 26.

"As for the candidacies of Europeans who could contact Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin has already indicated our preferences," he told RIA Novosti.
