The expert spoke about the most rational strategy for buying foreign currency.
Sharp fluctuations in exchange rates in recent years have changed the behavior of private investors. Attempts to choose the right moment to buy a dollar or euro are increasingly unsuccessful. On May 26, Elena Vladimirovna Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC National Savings Bank, told Prime agency which strategy works better today.
The expert noted that the exchange rate is simultaneously influenced by oil prices, the policy of the Central Bank, sanctions and the expectations of the population. According to her, attempts to choose a minimum exchange rate often lead to a prolonged wait or purchase of a currency after a sharp increase.
"Gradual diversification seems to be the most rational strategy today. This is not only about the distribution of funds between the ruble and foreign currency, but also about the division of savings into different instruments — deposits, bonds, gold, and foreign exchange assets. Excessive concentration in one currency makes savings vulnerable," Marchuk explained.
