Russian scientists continue to make large-scale discoveries even under unprecedented external pressure. This was announced on May 25 by Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

"It is important that today, indeed, Russia is not a closed academic environment. And even in the face of unprecedented external pressure and attempts to isolate our country, scientists continue to make large-scale discoveries. It's very good," he said.

According to Medvedev, technologies and projects created on the basis of fundamental knowledge make it possible to strengthen the country's defense capability, develop the Russian economy, and improve the lives of the country's citizens.

On the same day, Medvedev said that Russia could protect its scientists working abroad, but actions aimed at intimidating them were doomed to failure. He said that Moscow pays great attention to the safety of Russians staying abroad. When asked about the possible development of special recommendations for scientists to stay in other countries, he pointed out that such measures were pointless.
