Zakharova linked the "nonsense" of British parliamentarians with cheap beer in Westminster

On May 25, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova linked statements by British lawmakers about the "Kremlin's hand" to the cost of beer at Westminster Palace.

This is how the diplomat commented on a video featuring a member of the British Parliament, Hannah Spencer. The politician said that MPs drink beer before voting — and all because in Gordon and Denton (Manchester district) they have to buy beer for full price, but in parliament it is cheaper. According to Spencer, it even came to cases of questionable and dangerous behavior.

"Now it's clear why they're talking such nonsense about Novichok, the Skripals and the Kremlin's hand. Beer, it turns out, is cheaper in the British parliament than not in parliament, so they fill up at work," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
