Putin signs law on protection of historical truth

On May 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that will provide protection against the distortion of historical truth. The relevant document was published on May 25 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The document amends the law "On the Fundamentals of the Crime Prevention System in the Russian Federation." According to it, the prevention of offenses such as evading military duty and military service is being introduced, as well as ensuring the protection of historical truth and preventing the diminution of the importance of the people's feat in defending the country.
