Short-term rain, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in the Moscow region until Monday evening. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region on May 25.

"According to the weather forecast of the federal state budgetary institution Central Directorate for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, short—term rain, thunderstorms, and wind strengthening with thunderstorms up to 15 m/s are expected in the next 1-2 hours with preservation until 20:00 hours on May 25 in places in the Moscow region," the city news agency quotes the message."Moscow".

The ministry called on residents of the region to be vigilant, careful and comply with safety regulations.

Earlier that day, the canal of the urban economy complex of the capital warned that rains and increased winds of up to 17 m/s are expected in Moscow on May 25-26, writes "Moscow 24".

In turn, Anatoly Tsygankov, deputy head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Situation Center, warned RT about the abnormally cold weather in the capital in the coming days.

Tsygankov said on May 22 that this year's summer may turn out to be abnormally hot. Forecasters predict periods of high temperatures and lack of precipitation, which increases the risk of drought and wildfires. The fire season in Russia began in April and may last until October, and in some regions until November.
