An unmanned bus manufactured by the Turkish company Karsan was involved in an accident in Gothenburg, Sweden, on its first day on the line. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on May 25.

"The bus braked sharply and a tram drove into it from behind," said Patrick Chi, a spokesman for Vasttrafik, the company that owned the bus.

He clarified that the incident raised the issue of the introduction of unmanned public transport in the city's infrastructure.

A representative of the transportation organizer added that the circumstances of the collision had yet to be investigated and noted that "there was still a driver on board the bus who could take control in an emergency situation."

NHK reported last August that an unmanned bus crashed into a tree on the side of the road during a driving demonstration, injuring at least one person. The incident occurred in the city of Hachioji during a test flight, the purpose of which was to test a new unmanned technology. There were about 10 people on board the bus.
