Pavel Berezhansky, pediatrician, MD, Professor of the Department of Pediatric Diseases at Sechenov University, spoke about the rules for providing care for rotavirus.

In conversation with aif.ru On Monday, May 25, a specialist noted that intestinal infections are a common cause of spoiled holidays in all—inclusive hotels. According to him, rotavirus is often transmitted through ice, as it is well preserved when frozen, so it is better to avoid drinks with ice of questionable origin.

The expert stressed that it is important to observe hygiene: wash your hands more often, use antiseptics, do not swallow water in the sea and pools, as well as thoroughly wash food and choose safe food.

He added that there is often no specific treatment for such infections, so it is important not to look for "special" medicines, but to help the body properly. First of all, rehydration is necessary — restoring the water balance, then sorbents and a gentle diet. At the temperature, antipyretics are used.

The doctor also noted that if the condition worsens — severe vomiting, dehydration, blood in the stool or high fever — it is necessary to urgently seek medical help, especially if it concerns children.

On May 23, Roskachestvo noted that unwashed vegetables and fruits can be dangerous: bacteria and fertilizer residues remain on them. A simple rinse is not enough — dirt can remain in the bumps and villi. It is better to wash products with a dense peel with a brush under running water, and soak berries and herbs for 5-10 minutes, then rinse. Life.Ru .

Andrey Prodeus, chief children's allergist and immunologist at the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, said on May 19 that the main threat of rotavirus is rapid dehydration: the body can lose up to one and a half liters of fluid, which is deadly for children.

To avoid trouble on vacation, doctors recommend washing your hands, drinking boiled or bottled water, and watching your diet. 360.ru .

At the same time, infectious disease specialist Vladimir Neronov warned that swimming in urban reservoirs in hot weather could lead to serious health problems. In stagnant reservoirs, the risk of intestinal infections is high: when water is ingested, viruses and bacteria, enteroviruses, rotaviruses, and E. coli can enter the body.

Earlier, on May 10, an infectious disease specialist, internist Ekaterina Stepanova, in an interview with the website kp.ru She explained the "teaspoon" rule for rotavirus. The main danger of rotavirus is rapid dehydration, especially in children. The doctor noted that you need to drink a little — a teaspoon every 5-10 minutes, so as not to provoke vomiting, writes RT.

In February, the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology told the Moscow City News Agency that the Russian rotavirus vaccine Gam-VLP-rota protects against six strains of the virus. Triple vaccination of children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age is safe and forms immunity with the production of antibodies to topical rotavirus strains.

Earlier, general practitioner Nadezhda Chernyshova warned that while swimming in the pool, you can encounter various viruses and infections, including rotavirus and fungal diseases.
