Philip Kirkorov filed a lawsuit against the media because of fake debts for communal services

Reports published by a number of media outlets about singer Philip Kirkorov's debt on utility bills are not true. Lawyer Roman Kuzmin told Izvestia about this on May 25.

"An artist always pays for communal services on time," he explained.

Kuzmin noted that such publications mislead readers and discredit Kirkorov's name. He added that the media, without the consent of the contractor, disseminated his personal information about the apartments, their number, area, cost and addresses with reference to streets and location.

"We will defend our civil rights in court. Lawsuits will be filed against anyone who defames the People's Artist of Russia, without exception," the lawyer concluded.

According to the court, Kirkorov demands a refutation, and also intends to collect 521 thousand rubles each from two publications and the cost of paying state duty.

A correspondent for Izvestia reported from the courtroom on May 6 that the Moscow Regional Court rejected the appeal of Saratov businessman Gleb Ryskov against Kirkorov, in which the businessman demanded to cancel the acquisition of land along the shoreline of the Moskva River. At the same time, in February, the Krasnogorsk City Court sided with the artist, refusing Ryskov's demand to remove Kirkorov's plot from cadastral registration and demolish facilities on the coastal strip.
