Russian wheat supplies to the Middle East have reached record levels amid rising demand in the region. This was reported by Interfax on May 25, citing data from Agroexport.

According to the organization, from July 1, 2025 to May 17, 2026, grain exports from Russia to the Middle East increased to 13.6 million tons. This is 2.9 million tons more than in the same period of the previous agricultural year, and already 2.2 million tons exceeds the total volume of supplies for the entire last season.

"The most noticeable increase in supplies was recorded to Turkey — by 3.9 million tons, to Israel — by 0.5 million tons and to Iraq — by 0.4 million tons," the report says.

Agroexport predicts a further increase in grain imports by the countries of the region to 26.8 million tons against 20.9 million tons in the 2024/25 season. One of the reasons is the decline in yields in Middle Eastern countries.

In 2025, Russia exported fish products worth $3.42 billion to China, increasing its share in the country's fish imports to 14.4%.
